I actually think that on the whole, white vinegar is a better solvent than
apple cider vinegar, simply because it doesn't have so much other "stuff" in
it to react to whatever else you are putting in it. But as I said, it likely
all depends on the recipe, and in some of the recipes, it could be that part
of the "stuff" in the apple cider vinegar is part of the active principle of
the recipe. Just all depends on the rest of the ingredients of a given
recipe...
