Calluses from bad saddle fit
Unfortunately I used a saddle on my horse for a year that was too wide
for him. The saddle scrubbed back and forth on his loins no matter what
kind and type of padding and shims that I used. He has about five hard
calluses that range in size of a dime to BB size. These are quite
hard and about a quarter of an inch thick. These spots are all on the
right side of his back just under the back bar of the saddle. I now
have a saddle that fits but he is still sore under these spots. Any
idea how to get rid of them? He has been injected with cortisone twice
by the vet. Currently I am rubbing in cortisone creme topically once
or twice a day.
