Age dating via .....

When I was in college (1950's) one of my classmates had a circular slide
rule.   Ooooooooh!   were we jealous...the rest of us had  plain ordinary
slip sticks (Thanks, Bob Morris!).    Anyway, my engineer husband's
bowling team was called the Slide Rulers...the one year they were allowed
to compete in league play they were so abysmally in the cellar they all
received a small trophy of a man trying to pull his thumb out of the
bowling ball.   Say, does anyone still give an "award" to the last place
finisher on endurance rides?   (usually a candlestick or flashlight)
