Cherly-- what color are your leads?  White or Red.. since your original
email to the 'other' hrm -- i will assume red..

problems could be a loose battery in the transmitter  IF it is Polar..
A floopy transmitter as indicated by others,, make it tight in the pouch
and on the saddle.
bad leads  intermittent..
ripped electrode
dry electrode.. no matter what others sya we ALWAYS use gel.. AND it
CANNOT be KY Jelly --only use EKG GEL or PURE Aloe Gel or salt water...

loose girth--
neopreme  use velcro to hold the electrode in place
many riders take a few turns of Vet wrap over the electode.. soak it
with water and some gel  -- since the vet wrap is porous  the ekg goes
thru it to the electrode- works great.
