trees and fun

I'm not sure eating trees has as much to do with mineral or food imbalances as
much as it does with boredom and the simple fact that the tree is there.
Could it be a factor of ever-erupting teeth? An attempt to file them down in
the abscence of the silica that do that nicely in green pasture grasses?
Perhaps a visit with an equine dentist would be of benefit. Certainly
protecting the tree is of paramount importance. It doesn't take long for a
horse to girdle the tree and kill it. The tree's nourishment is in the cork,
immediately under the bark, not in the center. So avid chewers can make short
work of something that may have taken centuries to grow. How about other
diversions--balls, cones, etc?
