Re: head rubbing/amusement
>>Around here we
call it "Equine Massage" I turn my back, and my equine massages it.<<
I turn my back and invite Ember to rub, only on special occasions (like
post-competition only) and point to my, er, more padded assets for her
momentary delight. She knows I can't handle it unless I brace myself
or against something. I prefer to handle it by offering a scratch or
rub on material in my hand. The pebbly gloves Angie describes are the
best!
On the other hand, since she was two, we have a "mutual satisfaction"
activity: I scratch her, sometimes in the most unlikely spots, and she
reaches around and massages my back with her lips. I can stand as far
back as her hip, facing the rear, and both of us are happy...unless I
hear her lips smack open, when I quickly remind her verbally, "no
teeth!". Works 95% of the time, she's had a lot of practice over 5
years. She leaves food for a scratch session, and that's really saying
something for my piglet.
