RE: Head rubbing
I am not sure about the kind of training on this one, but I know that my
horse knows who he can use as a rubbing post and he can't. I do let him do
this to me. But when I am standing in line for the vet check and if he
tries to rub on someone else I check him (quick yank on the halter and say
no!) and he stops. It is very rarely now (he is 12 and this is his 7th
season) that he will try to rub on anyone else but me.
Good luck!

Subject: Head rubbing
I'm sure John Lyons has something to say about this. I did read
somewhere that a horse rubbing on a human is invading that human's space
and not to allow it. One of my horses thinks he is Alpha to me, so I
have stopped allowing him to rub on me. I will remove his bridle and
then I will rub/pet him at my choosing. I'm trying to develop a
different relationship with my other horse and haven't let him rub on me
right from the start. He seems much more respectful of my space, but
does enjoy it when I rub him.
