To clarify your warning:  opening an email in itself cannot (at this time)
deliver a virus to your pc.  HOWEVER, if the email contains an attachment
(just like the one you included in your first post), and you OPEN the
attachment, that can activate a virus in the attachment and infect your
computer.

Advice:  Don't open attachments from people you don't know, and run virus
scanning software.  Several big corporations are currently defending
themselves against rather agressive email attachment virus attacks that
simply wipe the system files off the hard drive (read DEAD COMPUTER).
