Subject: FEI Ride and Officials Clinic

There is going to be a 100 mile FEI  ride held in Manitoba, Canada on July 
4th,1998.  This ride will be a qualifier for this year's Worlds and next 
years Pan Am Championships. It will be part of an annual three day ride, 
The Great Northern Connection, which offers 25 and 50 each day, the one day 
100 and 2 day 100 or three day 150. The ride  is right in the middle of 
North America and it is only 50 miles from the US border.  The ride 
management has applied to host the Pan Am Championship in 99 in conjunction 
with and in close proximity to the Pan Am Games as a whole which are to be 
held in Winnipeg, Manitoba from July24th  to Aug 9th, 1999. We have 
received word that the FEI Endurance Management  Committee has  recommended 
that the  ride come to this location and  that  the FEI bureau  will ratify 
this decision shortly. The date proposed is July 24th,1999. This year's FEI 
ride would  then be considered the Pan Am pre-ride.

In order to have enough FEI officials and vets we are hosting an FEI 
Officials and Vets clinic as well on July 2nd,1998,  Dr. Jerry Gillespie of 
Manhattan, Kansas will be the clinician and head vet  for the FEI 100 mile 
event.

Both the FEI clinic and ride will be open to Canadians and Americans.

The schedule of events is as follows:

July 2nd  - FEI clinic, Dr. Jerry Gillespie clinician
July 3rd - IAHA Region 17 Championship 50 mile endurance
- 25/50 Open endurance
July 4th - FEI 100 mile endurance
	- 25/50 mile endurance
July 5th -25/50 mile endurance
July 3 & 4th - 2 day 100
July 3,4&5th - 3 day 150

All rides are AERC, UMECRA, DRM, EMDRA sanctioned
