Derby Ditch 50

My spouse and I just returned from volunteering at the DD Ride.(75+ riders)
 While entries were down due to weather and muddy trail conditions,
everything went very well.  Most of us timers, pr people decided we'd go to
heaven for sure after standing around in cold wind, some snow, and mud all
day but it was worth it seeing the pleased faces of the riders to find us
there along with hay, water etc. for horses.  We did not encounter one rude
rider all day long under less than ideal conditions and both of us had
contact with each and every rider.  The horses loved the cool weather and
in talking with the vets, they were very pleased.  While I would much
rather be riding, acting as a volunteer occasionally really keeps things
level.  We are in a great sport with great people who have got to be
dedicated to either ride, crew, or volunteer during Mother Nature's revenge!!
