I've never been fond of beet pulp for endurance horses--seems to be a better
feed for geriatrics. What is the rest of your feeding program? I would think
that some sort of fat source would be better, but without knowing what else
you feed and what sort of quality roughage you use, it is hard to say. As to
the grain--I just up the grain a little on days that I ride. Maybe half a
pound. I don't feed a lot of grain anyway, but have found that I can feed a
lot during an endurance ride with no problems, even though my horses don't get
a lot at home.
