What type of CTR was it? We usually have a lunch stop at NATRC rides
where you and your horse can rest and eat. Our P&R stops are only 10-15
minutes so no hay is provided but sometime management will provide water
if you send along buckets. That's
usually when there is limited natural
water on the trail.
The water is used after the P&R for the horses to drink or you can sponge
out of your bucket if it is really hot. As a ride Manager I try to find
P&R stops where there is plenty of grass for grazing while you are waiting
for your P&R. But I don't supply hay. As NATRC rules say that the rider
should bring with them what they want the horse to eat if it is other than
grass and other browse found along the trail.
