Bambi, I found the suggestion of the horse stretching the neck and
nose way down to communicate passiveness and or wanting to be no longer
pushed and allowed to join the herd very interesting.
I have noticed that my horse does this at times when I am lunging
him and acts like he is trying to eat off the ground. Mind you I don't
push my horse as he has a lazy attitude and 2 circles in each direction
is considered too much work by him.
While under saddle he will do this at the beginning of rides when I
know he is not tired but am sure he is trying to stretch tight muscles
and seems to do it less as he gets more fit. Linda
