I always put my ride maps in a sheet protector (clear cover for 8 1/2 x
11 inch size paper). It is fairly durable, has holes punched in it for
three ring binder, so I run a shoestring through one of the holes, and
then attach it to a D-ring at the front of my saddle. It's there, handy
for when I need it, protected from the rain and sweat and dripping water
bottles, and even if the wind catches it and it flaps around some, I
don't lose it. Usually the maps are large enough that I have to fold
them in half to fit them in the sheet protector, but that doesn't
matter. I fold the printed side to the outside and with the clear
covering, just need to flip the map over to see the part I'm looking
for. It's a cheap, easy way to carry the map and keep it in good shape!
