Hiya John & Sue-

Congrats on your impending purchase!

I have the '95 dually with the 3:55 rear end, not the 4:10, which
would've helped but this is a daily use truck and I don't like the growl
and reduced mileage of the 4:10. Just had a flash upgrade done to the
throttle position sensor, which has greatly improved the
automatic-equipped performance in 3rd gear.

And FWIW, I'm just now replacing my tires, at 64,000 miles. Shocks also
need replacing. And apparently it had been working for a while off of
one battery, when it failed to crank in Northern Cal recently. Had them
load tested, and ended up choosing to replace both of them. Just did
front brakes. Other than that, the only work that was done was from a
little "infant mortality", a fan clutch and TPS in the first 60 days or
so. Make sure you choose to do your every-30K mile transmission
service, don't have it done by 3rd party as they don't have the test
equip to make sure the tranny is operating within parameters. It's
amazing the degree to which the Ram is computer-controlled, they let me
in the shops to consult on a problem which turned out to be that I'd
gotten bad diesel fuel on the way home from the Eastern High Sierra
Classic, which mimicked a TPS problem.
