Hi group,
I just wanted to say thank you to Ruth and Ron for putting up such a well
organized ride!
It was my third try of a 50 and this time the big grey guy and I have been
successful, part of which was the great organization by
ride-management......no long line at the vet-checks, no waiting for the
trailer-ride home from the finish-line back to camp,etc.
The food at the awards-dinner was the greatest one could expect and the
ceremony itself was fun, I really liked Ruth giving extra prizes to all the
juniors, who completed the ride!
Congratulations to all horses and riders, who completed over those not too
easy miles and special congratulations to the top-ten horse-rider-teams!!
Of course, I want to warmly congratulate my riding-friend Eilidh Grant and
cute Rabidas for coming in first AND winning the BC award!!!! This girl is
just amazing, she turned 16 years old last week, but don't you dare calling
her a junior with those couple of hundred miles <or more?!> she has under
her belt......
Rabidas belongs to Jazon Wonders, who came in 12th at the same ride with
another one of his horses.
I had the great pleasure to take care of Nanak <barn-name: Jahan> on his
first 50 mile ride and we had fun til the end, after we settled into the
ride <see Kimberly Price's story for details> and after we dealt with the
frustration of loosing our training-partners Kim and Mystery, the Morab!
Next time you go Kim!!!!!!
Ruth and Ron, thanks again for this very nice ride with all the spectacular
views over Lake Sonoma, if I'm still around next year, I'll definately try
to do it again!!
