This may not seem immediately relevant to endurance riding, but to me it
is, so please bear with me for a moment. After some searching, I am about
to buy my first horse, on a path to becoming an endurance rider myself. He
is a well-trained horse that I have ridden a lot and am familiar with. One
issue with horse background is that he is not familiar with cross ties. The
barn where he is kept does not use them - they tie to rings on one side of
spacious aisles. The horse accepts this calmly. The barn where I plan to
keep my horse, which is also where my daughter rides, uses cross ties. I am
looking for some advice on a step-by-step plan to calmly introduce this
horse to cross ties. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
