Charlene,
Thank you for your post about your experiences with wounds. The good
news is that after visiting the Vet last night, the prognosis is at this
point no damage to tendon sheath-phewwwwww! He gave her some more anti inflam
drugs, removed the bandage which seemed to be keeping it too moist and told
me to exercise her lightly twice or more times daily. The Flints Oil seems to
be healing it quite fast, but I would be eager to try some of the liniment
you described if I could get hold of it here in Australia. Do you know what
it's main ingredients are? I have been trying to get hold of some stuff we
call "green ointment", and which the vet used on her, with little success.
It's apparently a miracle wound healer, probably herbal. As for her gait,
she was still lame on it at the Vet's last night, but he thinks that is due
to lack of exercise, and after a light half hour this morning she feels
GOOOD! wanted to trot everywhere with no encouragement needed and only ever
so slightly off. Such a great relief to feel her spirit returning! How did I
fall? No such thing as automatic reaction except to shield my face with my
right arm! Kind of flew out and to the side, skidding flat out on my side
and stomach. I expect it looked a bit like a tossed pancake :( Have to ask
the young boys who were riding with me, who, after getting over the shock of
it, started arguing over who got the best view!!! Such compassion! Hopefully
out on the trails again soon, at least before Summer gets here with all it's
heat.

can we?)
