I started riding in endurance competetion is 1989. At that time I was
breaking and training young horses of all breeds. The saddle I used
exclusively was a western barrel racing saddle made by Easy Rider. It
had a Ralide tree, 15" seat with suede over the seat jockeys, 4" cantle
and a 7/8 double rigging. This saddle cost about 350 dollars new. I used
it hard until 1995 at which time I bought a Ortho-Flex Brazos. The Easy
Rider never sored any of the horses I competed. (Arabians, Appendix
Quarterhorses or BLM Adoptees) My ride weight was between 175 and 185.
The saddle has since been passed on to my mother (age 62) who rides a
arab-quarter mare in limited distance.

The Brazos is the most comfortable stockseat I have ever owned. I
compete my HCC gelding, Ladde in the mountain rides here in NM. I
haven't had any problems although the saddle weighs a little more than
the Easy Rider. I haven't had any problems with the horn hitting my gut
while lungeing up steep hills. The neck on the horn is very short. The
horn on the Easy Rider would occasionally poke me when I leaned forward
going up hill at a canter.

I live on a ranch and use my saddle for working cattle to. Along with
pulling the kids around in a red flyer wagon.

KV Vet Supply 800-423-8211 sell a saddle very much like the Easy Rider.
The Speed Racer #706 for $358.90.

I hope this helps you out some. Drop me a line if you have any
quetsions.

Happy Autumn Trails, Penny and The Gray Ghost.
