In 1980, after years of looking at horses in auction barns, and later upon
closer examination figuring out why they were there, my husband bought the
one and only horse he ever bought at a sale barn--a 4 yr old arab-qtr
gelding. My husband played polo on him for 10 years--could run with any TB.
More stamina than any horse we ever owned. I raced him in hunter paces and
usually won. Several years ago when I started CTR/endurance he was the one I
started to condition. Unfortunately he started to develop alergies/breathing
problems and I never got the chance to use him. Now he's just teaching
little girls how to ride. By far one of the best horses we ever owned. I
think the quarter softens the fire of the arab--a little more sane--and gives
a little more substance. The right cross would certainly be a good choice
for CRT and endurance.
