My big question is; Where was the ride steward at this ride????
This is the person who is there, representing both the AERC Riders and in
this particular case the IAHA Riders also!!! I believe any irregularities in
contravention to the AERC Rules should have been brought to the stewards
attention and settled by that person at once with no intervention by the
ride manager.
If you riders are afraid to name names, cite actions and just allude to what
you think are wrongs, then the Board of Directors are helpless to assist in
correcting the problem. Your directors are volunteers and as such cannot
"seek out the problems" You must bring the facts to life and support them.
I have been there done that, lost almost every time but my actions resulted
in several rule corrections and major changes in policy. The Board of
Directors is a minor number of the AERC membership who must rely on INPUT
FROM THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP. Call, write or E-mail your Directors, all of
them not just your own regional director, and let them know how you feel on
matters that concern you.
