I agree 200%. When the rider who was eliminated because of time asked the
vet why there were cut-off times, the vet's response was "so the vets can get
to the next vet check"...VERY inappropriate (especially knowing the vet who
said it) considering the NEXT vet check was in the SAME location.

By the way, I was station head at VC#1 at the 1996 ROC in Utah. I made the
decision to extend the cut-off time (with the blessing of
everybody..especially later) because more than 20 riders would have been
eliminated if I had not done so.

The cut-offs at the OD are based on EXPERIENCE. If you can't make the
cut-off there, you simply cannot finish the entire 100 miles in 24 hours.
Very simple, logical and understandable...NO POLITICS involved.
