Miles. Gradually build the daily mileage (1/2 mile extra every 4-5 days),
starting from a number that you're sure the horese can accommodate. Tendons
and ligaments respond to the number of flexions of the joint, not necessarily
the intensity or stress level of that flexion. Time to return to full power
after 2 months off--3-4 months.
