Hi all,
Some more questions on feeding endurance horses...... I'd like to know what
the pros and cons are of feeding two different types of feeds that we
obtain here - I'm sure you have them too , just under different names. One
is what we call Molly Chop( or harmony chop) - which is I think just the
husks of the corn(maize) seed - like bran is the husk of wheat. The second
is wheat germ - the germ of the wheat kernel made into a sort of oily
flour. I would imagine that the Chop is high protein like maize while the
wheat germ is high oil/fat and might be good for substituting for oil on
feeds.I do know that wheat germ gives a real gloss to the coat and does put
weight on , but weather it is good long term and in what quantity is the
question. I know bran is high in Phosphorus - would the chop and wheat germ
also be??.
Yours in ignorance,
