I have undertaken a fund raising project to help sponsor the Mountain =
Squad at the Pan American Championship in Oregon in Sept. With your help =
I feel confident that we can raise enough money to help pay some of the =
expenses of the 6 member squad selected plus the Chef d'Equipe and Team =
Vet. =20
Bazy Tankersley of Al-Marah Arabians in Tucson has generously agreed to =
donate a horse to raffle off. The proceeds of this raffle will help =
sponsor the Mt. Squad. Mrs. Tankersley has selected a half Arab-Curley =
3 year old gelding or mare to choose from. This cross was specifically =
developed by Al-Marah too add refinement to the Curley and increase the =
endurancxe potential. The Arab-Curley is a larger horse that can easily =
carry a heavyweight in competition, and would make a good prospect for =
multi-day rides. The Curley is a hearty horse with large bones, big =
feet, and a disposition compatible with the Arab. These horses, bred by =
Al-Marah have been raised in the rocky and rugged mountains in northern =
Arizona at 6500 feet elevation.
The cost of the tickets are: 1 for $5.00; 3 for $13.00; 5 for $20.00; =
10 for $37.00.
The drawing will be held at Al-Marah Arabians in Tucson on August 25, =
l997. You do not have to be present to win.
If you would like to buy a raffle ticket or if you would like to help us =
sell tickets to support the Mt. Squad, e-mail me at: =
barfield@primenet.com and I will mail you your tickets. =20
Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas on how to sell =
and market these tickets for the maximum benefit.=20
Thanks for your help. Nominating a horse for the for the championship =
and competing in the event is a costly affair. Hopefully more riders =
will nominate in the future if they can look forward to sponsorship and =
financial support.
