Last year I had the axle of my 3 year old Trail-et fall off! They
said the same thing as Sundowner, it had never happened before.
Donkey dust! A little research uncovered a number of Trail-et
stories that would raise your hair. Seems that in all the effort to
make a bigger trailer that does not weigh tons, the metals and
welding processes are as "light" as possible. Although they meet
engineering specs, they may not be as good as they should be
considering the stress that trailers suffer through. The national
Highway Traffic Safety Admin. (NHTSA) keeps accounts of defects in
vehicles. They have a hotline 1-800-424-9393. If enough trailers
are reported with similar problems, they will investigate.
