WINE COUNTRY 25/50

The Ride: Come enjoy a beautiful ride in the wine country. There will be
majestic views of the Napa Valley and of the San Francisco Bay Area. This
ride is being put on as a benefit for Skyline Park trail maintenance and for
the Bay Area Ridge Trail, which is attempting to complete a 400-mile ridge
trail around the San Francisco Bay Area. This event will help support the
hard work being undertaken to preserve the open space and trail access still
available in Napa County and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Hopefully, our successes can and will become regional and/or national
models. The ride will travel on proposed sections of the Bay Area Ridge
Trail. Last year we raised $2500, which was donated to the above mentioned
organizations.We will have great awards for everyone.

The Course: Those of you who did this ride last year will be happy to know
that I have taken your comments into account and have made some changes on
the afternoon loop of the trail. The ride will pass through two large
working cattle ranches and through Skyline Park. On the 50 there are two vet
checks out on the trail with lunch back in camp. The 25 will have one check
away from camp. There will also be a trot-by. All stops are accessible to
crews. The ride course covers rough terrain with several steep climbs. This
ride is suitable for conditioned horses only. A high percentage of the trail
is rocky.

Base Camp: Base camp will be located at Skyline Park in Napa. The camp is
easily accessible from Hwy 80 and Hwy 101. Located 1 hour north of SF.

Entry Fees: Entry fee for the 50 is $78.00 and $58.00 for juniors, for the
25 $68.00 and juniors $48.00 (all juniors must be accompanied by an adult at
least 21 years at all times). $7.00 for extra meal all you can eat fajitas.
$10 late fee after 6/2/97.
