Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. It seems now that I can
have my cake and eat it too! Not only was I reassured that Nikita would not
be adversely affected by motherhood, but it seems that we should go and do
some rides next year while she is in foal, and that this would be good for
her. Now I ride conservatively anyway, anything under 4:30 for a 50 miler is
Fast for us. Nikita will tell me when she has had enough.
The short list is down to two stallions now after looking at some 40 of
them. Most of the stallions were lovely, this made our decision difficult. I
will talk with Nikita and ask her which of the two she likes best!
