Here in the Northwest we have to go through a foot of water just to get
to the mud!
Many of our spring and fall rides are on poor footing much of the way.
We just slow down, get centered and focus, focus, focus. Not always
alot of fun, but it beats sitting on the couch eating bon bons.
Our horses train in this stuff so they learn to deal with it over
time. However, we go VERY slow with our youngsters until they
muscle-up, learn to place their feet and can slide down hills (i.e.
similar to a reining horse slide).
Merry Christmas to all from the Cascade Mountains.
