My Mystery went lame. Bummer. Xrays reveal no bone injury.
Soreness isolated to back of heal, right in center. No abcess, no
bruise, no discoloration. Dr.Jim Steere is the vet (I know some of you
know him and D'Ann). He believes he somehow banged or traumatized the
hoof where it is bleeding on the inside wall. Prognosis, see if gets
worse, if so, bute, if not, back to pasture and the wild bunch, wait.
Its the waiting and not knowing for sure that really hurts.
Anyone else out there have this happen? How did it turn out?
Anything else you can think of might be happening or I might ask about?
I'm lucky, first time since I've owned him this has happened. Also,
nothing wrong with bones so very lucky. No swelling, doesn't believe
any ligament joints. Christmas money gone, but only money, not my
favorite guy! ( I did get new birthday Ariat Performer Pros...guess I
can walk around in them some! :-) )
thanks to you'all...

this stall!)
