Can't agree with this. If you are going to be keeping the horse in your
back yard along with your dog and your 3 pre-teen children....the horse
has very different requirements than one that is in need of $1,000 of
medical treatment....which is different from one that requires twice
daily bandaging....which is different from one that can't get along with
other horses.....
you get my point.
It does no good to "rescue" a horse to a situation that is totally
inappropriate for it. The horse will just get passed on again; maybe
after having hurt herself, or somebody else in the process.
NO horse should be taken into the care of somebody who does not have the
physical, mental, and financial capability of handling and caring for it.
There are plenty of other horses out there to rescue which may suit the
"rescuer's" situation better. But you won't know until you ask.
