Considering the number of posts to the endurance net regarding
transportation requirements I would offer the following information:
The American horse Council "Horse Industry Directory" has listings for each
state's health requirements for travel. It also lists the individual state
information contacts for each state.

YOU MUST REMEMBER each state has its' own rules and regulations. Here in the
western US we have in addition to the health requirements, a set of BRAND
LAWS that must be complied with.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLY WITH ALL LAWS, REGARDING THE
TRANSPORTATION OF HORSES, IN EACH STATE YOU TRAVEL IN OR THROUGH.

These laws have been defined for your protection and concern the spread of
infectious disease and, in the case of brand laws, the prevention of horse
theft.

Contact your State Department of Animal Health (generally a part of the
State Agriculture Dept), The State Brand Dept. (Sometimes a part of the Law
Enforcement Division) and while you are doing it you might as well check
with the Department of Transportation to be sure your truck and trailer are
licensed correctly. There were some Federal changes implemented in the past
several years that the general users do not know about.

It is cheaper to spend a day or so of your time now than to pay a
substantial fine later.
