[endurance] Forgetting stuff?

Someone asked about forgetting to bring things to endurance rides, and I can
not resist mentioning what I did last year. I have been so focused on being
a crew lately, I goofed up at the first ride I did on my new horse a few
months ago. We had a volunteer come out and crew for us, since we were both
riding. He brought his car, which I loaded up with nice pre-packed bags for
each stop. I had him all prepared for the worst, and he had a lot of stuff
at the checks.
What I forgot was that the lunch stop was indeed a check, it was back at
base camp, and my crew would not be there! I ride up to the trailer and
find all the stuff I need is neatly packed in gear bags out at the next
check! Judy is there already, asking where are the blankets, the mash, the
flat feed pans, the sponges, just about everything we needed. At least I
remembered to leave lunch and drinks in the camper fridge.
We borrowed everything we needed, and survived the day. The only good point
was we had the best stocked crew at the ride!
