On the subject of red ribbons...

My horse "used" (?) to be a kicker. We did one 25 last spring,
and I did put a red-ribbon in her tail, because at that point she was
definitely a "kicker". Now, she does not kick anymore. At least,
not at horses she knows. However, she's young and still "green" and
we are very new to endurance rides. I am planning on doing a couple
more 25's this year. So, do I put a red ribbon in her tail?? At
what point, does a horse transform from a kicker into a non-kicker??
I wouldn't be surprised, if a strange horse ran up on us, if Cherokee
were to threaten to kick. She doesn't like that, because she's not
exposed to it very often. I believe that she needs to learn to
"accept" that situation and behave herself anyway, but it does take
time to get to that point! Then again, I think that alot of horses
would get upset, and tend to kick, if a horse runs up on them. We
all need to respect each others space.

Also, when people respond to "personal" posts, could you please do it
personally, rather than to the entire group?? I think it's fine to
post a message to the group, if everyone benefits from the response,
but lately, it seems like there are getting to be more and more
messages that are sent to everyone, when they need not be. Maybe
it's just that I have been gone for a few days, and it only SEEMED
like there were alot of them, because I read them all in the same
day....
