To those of you who asked where I got my info on *Raseyn being a Remount
stallion I refer you to the July '89 issue of ARABIAN HORSE WORLD. *Raseyn
was bred by Crabbet and born in 1923, imported by Kellog in '26. In '43
Kellog pursuaded the university of CA in Pomona to turn it's horse program
over to the Remount Service and it was then known as Pomona Quartermaster
Depot (Remount). By the end of '43, 20 Remount Arab stallions were added to
Pomona from Ft. Robinson Remount Station in Nebraska. At the end of the
'40's the Army went mechanaical and the Remount was fazed out and in '48 the
Pomona horses were scheduled to be sold. *Raseyn at that time was found to
be sterile and in the Armys infinite wisdom was scheduled to be destroyed.
Alice Payne took on the Army and won, *Raseyn was given into her *custodial
care* and died in her arms in '52.
