So... As we were doing a base set of x-rays on the Magnum horse's
old race injury, my vet asked if Endurance was going to be more than
just a demonstration sport this year at the Olympics. What???
Endurance at the Olympics? I had no idea... so I mumbled about
how 4 years ago I didn't even have a horse at all and didn't know
anything... and I would Ask All My Friends Out There in the Big
Electronic Paddock! :)
What's the history? I know there is a World Championship going on
in Kansas, but how about a connection with the Olympics? Was
Endurance a demonstration sport 4 years ago? Tell us all about it!
Is there any push to get it into the equestrian events? ???
Dr. Mike will be heading to the Olympics. He works with 3 Day
Eventing. He's a great friend and looked a bit taken back that
we only started back into endurance last year... of course I
quickly explained that having such a great electronic resource
helps a lot. Perhaps we need to get him a Mac and modem and...

... and Magnum the *sound* (hurray!) TB who will probably end up
financing that internet hookup...
aside: ... we did a series of x-rays using a portable machine out
in an area that was paved between a cinderblock building and old
wooden fence. Magnum was so nervous he was actually dripping a
bit of urine. It took me a minute to figure out what could be
affecting him so strongly... and then I got it. Auction. He
thought I was taking him to the auction! It was enough to break
your heart...
