I am in Washington State. Just did the first WNV shot on our vets
recommendation. One of my neighbors just had a yearling shipped from
North Dakota. Didn't seem right on arrival. At first they thought it
was shipping fever but the colt tested positive for WNV. The owner took
the horse to Pllchuck Vet and insisted they test for WNV. They did and
it was positive. Then a state vet came out and redid the test, still
positive. The colt is much better, he was treated agressively and seems
to be on the mend. First positive in Washington state, but came from
North Dakota and was exposed there.
