We gave it everything we had. Steph e-mailed us and it was a go from AERC, but alas, the answer from Bob Rock (Aug 16th) of the Crooked River Nat'l Grasslands was no permited events, as fire status was a class C. If we would have limited riders to 74 and and charged no fee the ride could have been held. Didn't make alot of sense as 80 riders could start a fire just as easy as 74, go figure. Endurance riders are surely near the top of the list when it comes to the best stewards of our public land. Being an addicted endurance rider and loosing 2 great rides back to back and not being allowed by the Government to put on a makeup ride is definately cruel and unusual punishment. Sorry we tried !!!
