Well Hawk did it 250 miles 33 hours and 44 minutes!
19 attempted the pioneer and 11 finished it.
I was too beat to write down who- sorry. It was a
good turnout everyday with 25-30 riders in the 50
but they never announced top ten at the awards each
night just division winners and of course breed winners
which Hawk was best Morgan 5 days in a row! (course he was
the only one too). Monday and Tuesday were the "trying"
days for a non-arab it was hot and water was precious.
By Wednesday when the rain came I was rubbed raw in many spots due to dumping water at the holds on the big guy so
we wouldn't fail the CRI every time. By Thursday my husband
assured me this was not his idea of a summer vacation. However
he was there the duration which was the only way
I could have made it. Cindy Simcox and Steve Rojek were
the other 2 ECTRA members that finished. Like the Old D
belt buckle one SHore to Shore jacket is all I'll ever
need! mary
