I was at K-State on Thursday with a friend and her horse.  A vet there was 
saying that they had just gotten their fourth West Nile horse patient.  She 
also indicated that the horse was not going to live in all likelihood.  I 
asked her if any of the four horses that they had seen had been vaccinated -- 
she said no, all four were unvaccinated.  There were vaccinated horses living 
in close proximity to at least one of the four, but none of the vaccinated 
horses were showing signs of the illness.  The K-State vet said that she and 
others there were very hopeful that the vaccine was effective.
