Re: [RC] West nile virus vaccine - Typef
Thanks for that information. I called my vet (I'm in California) and he is,
at this time, no recommending it. His estimate was one to two years before
it reaches here, but my husband listens to the "news" and he's been very
upset about it and says he heard today it will be here by Spring. As rumors
are want to fly, I had heard that at least one horse had died from the
vaccine and several had been very ill. But this media thing is just driving
me crazy. Who would have thought the media could come over into the horse
world? I get so crazy with them anyway, trying to make stories out of
nothing. This is obviously not "nothing" but I've been so worried that the
vaccine was so new that I've been very firm about not vaccinating just yet
because my vet recommended we wait. And the "news bulletin" approach by the
drug company just didn't set right with me. I'd like to believe that they
are genuinely concerned but it just came across as a money maker. I think I
need a shrink!
:) Jackie
