Well said Angie!  Unfortunately, that is not uncommon for programs that take the easy way out and send horses to slaughter- it is disgusting.  The only thing that makes it worse is the $1000 price tag.  Last I checked killer horses were going for about 30 cents per lb here- I guess that makes a 900 lb horse about $270- a far cry from $1000.  Shame on them for not taking a little effort to find the horse a good home AND for their extortion tactics.
