Re: [RC] West nile virus vaccine - Tara Wheeler
I have five horses and live in Central Texas. My horses range in age from a
yearling to fifteen. All have had three West Nile Virus shots (the two
initial doses back in January and February and one booster dose about two
weeks ago).
Other than a little swelling at the injection site (and only on my very
sensitive-skinned Arab) we have had *zero* reaction.
I gave the last round of shots myself (after being coached by my vet) and it
was slightly more difficult than worming (which is not a big deal out here).
I don't know if the vaccine is effective, but it's all I have. I will give
a fourth shot if recommended to do so by my vet.
This s**t scares me.
