[RC] brain cages - Brenda L. Kossowan
Jerry, I was among those people who were hard to convince. My very good
friend, Linda Riley, worked on me for years. The pendulum swung on a
windy day when I had accidentally left my ball cap at home. Linda said
she didn't have a spare hat, but could lend me one of her spare lids.
Gawd. So I tried it on and we went for a ride. Now that old Troxel was
darn heavy compared to my new Legacy Gold - but it was still a lot more
comfortable than my ball cap. I didn't have to worry about it blowing
off and it wasn't nearly so tight around my head. It was only a week
later that i got bucked off in the mountains and suffered my second
concussion. The lid couldn't save my shoulder - which still aches - but
it did keep my brains from getting splattered all over the rocks. My new
lid keeps me dry when it's raining, keeps the wind from blowing hair
into my eyes and helps my head stay cool when the noon sun is beating
down.
My crowning moment, pardon the pun, was when my neighour's daughter used
my story to form a prize-winning speech for 4-H. I'm sure she would be
happy to provide a copy to your friend.
Perservere.
