Wello as the native Chattanoogan maybe I can help. :-) *SURELY* there's
something from there going to Atlanta. Down here we say that when St.
Peter blows his horn we all have to transfer through Atlanta!
Chattanooga is barely 2 hours from there. There are flights, but there is
also a shuttle bus that leaves on the hour I believe from there to here
and back. If you do choose to get a rental car and drive, it's a
prettier drive from Nashville, about equal distance, fewer lanes, less
traffic...but there are flights from Nashville to Chatt too. (If you're a
Walking Horse enthusiast you'd be driving right by Shelbyville)
Chattanooga has a very nice airport, but it's hard to get much traffic
through there when Atlanta is in driving distance and such a HUGE
airport.
For those of you considering coming...PLEASE DO! Chattanooga is a very
pretty town sitting right on the Tennessee River with mountains on 3
sides. The downtown area has free electric shuttle busses going all down
to the riverfront from the area where the convention is with lots of nice
shops. It's a tourist town, though March is a bit of an off month. We
have a paddle wheeler riverboat that really doesn't charge that much for
dinner cruises. Maybe we could get a group of the early arrivers to go
out on it Wed. or Thurs? I'm a teacher but get off at 2:15. Maybe I can
show some folks around. :-)
P.S. Big Horn Saddlery is in Chattanooga, as is Crates, American.... How
could we work that in...tours? (they don't sell to individuals)
