Arabian Racing Illustrated is a magazine devoted to
Arabian racing and is full of horses for sale. As someone mentioned before, it
is a small pool of horses and most are family members first, race horses second.
So when they retire, or if they don't do so well, they just stay home.
There are exceptions, of course. Town and Country
Farms (located in central Florida, Ocala area) had an auction a few years
ago of Wiking get and it was amazing. I think about 70 or so horses sold, some
for as little as $3000. His stud fee alone is close to $10,000. John told me
before I went, if I raised my arm to bid, he would break it into tiny, little
pieces. Slowly. And then the other one, just to make a point. He's so funny.

The racing association begs for people to get more
involved in the racing end as it will raise the purses of winners. It is
exciting to say the least and I had to stop getting the magazine because it was
pulling me in!! Can't you see it though? Announcer," And coming around the
corner to home stretch in first place it's, it's, YES, IT IS ONE ODD HORSE!"
Yea!! Or "Coming up from behind is Mucho Dinero, and that is exactly what you
will win because he is a looooong shot my friends. Wait a minute, there he goes,
he's passing, passing and across the line in first place! What an Odd
race!"
Oh my, I AM glad I don't get that magazine anymore.
