Mashed Maggot heads?

Had to teach a class a couple of years ago where their Weekly Reader type
magazine had an article on treating...gangrene I think with maggots.
They'd apply them, let them eat off the gross stuff, rake the full ones
off and add more. :-P  Funny thing was, they were raising *really clean
high quality* maggots....not *cheap* maggots.  I'm sure these people were
paying really high drug store prices for *their* maggots. >g< I wonder
who sits around with a microscope chopping off the little maggot head?
