Re: Bad Knees

I have to also second the glucosamine.   I basically stay away from "fad" supplements, but after I started running last fall and was having some knee pain, I started the glucosamine just to see.......I believe it helps; also just the strengthing of the muscles around the knee.  My right knee is the only problem, having hit the pavement years ago from a runaway horse......I also am able to ride comfortably using a Sport saddle, skito pad and flex-ride stirrups.  Given my middle age status, getting off and walking the horse occasionally helps.  What seems to make the knee hurt the most is riding the horse and just WALKING.  If I post and float the trot, it helps.

I have been a runner for the past 17 years and have worn my knees out..  I
started Glucosamine - (mega doses) 2 years ago and now I'm running again
avidly and riding doesn't bother them..  It truly was a miracle drug for me.
