Bravo, Julie.  And I may be joining you before you too many more years.
Yes, folks, old endurance riders never die, they just (no, they don't fade
away) take up riding LD rides, and loving every minute of it!!  It's been 30
years since I attempted my first endurance ride, nowhere near as long as
Julie, nor anywhere near as many miles, but it's been a great trip.  Most of
our dearest friends have come into our lives via endurance.
Maybe what we need is another division, CTR, as they do it in UMECRA:
maximum and minimum time, faster pacing than NATRC and no judging of horse
behavior or horsemanship, emphasis on horse condition.  This might be made a
requirement for novice riders who want to learn the sport????  Or maybe it
should be a replacement for our current LD division.  Of course, we can't
legislate courtesy, no matter what kind of ride divisions we have.
