That's right, they do! The pre-ride that Jack is doing will be about 3 weeks before the actual Tevis ride it's self.The American River crossing will not require any swimming on the part of the horse or the rider
Jack has got on the waiting list. So he is just going to show
up for the actual ride hoping that someone wasn't able to use their entry.
I LOVE that crossing
I like the crossing really well too. Jack can't swim and some
of the buckles he has, had to cross the river when it was really
high. He cross's it with his feet planted in the stirrups and hopes
the horse can swim. He has found out that this horse can swim,
on one of the other years, he was on a horse that couldn't swim.
They both floundered across in one piece. Now he always checks to
see if the horse can swim. <BG>
